Why Was My Noillirk Answer Not Accepted?

Understand unlisted answers, spelling and alias matching, retry time, and how to report a missing answer in Noillirk on noillirk.im.

You think of a sensible answer, submit it, and discover that the game has not accepted it. Does that mean your answer is wrong? Can you try again? Would a different spelling help?

In Noillirk on noillirk.im, an unlisted answer means the response did not match the current question's reviewed answer list. It does not necessarily mean the idea is objectively incorrect. Understanding that distinction helps you decide what to do next.

For an unlisted answer, check the prompt and spelling, retry while time remains, and report a missing answer for review.

Valid ideas and recognized answers are different

Open prompts can admit more reasonable answers than a list contains. The game can miss a regional expression, a synonym, or an example that fits the category.

The reverse also matters: a familiar word may be related to the topic without satisfying the exact prompt. Before deciding that something is missing, check whether the question asks for a particular type of object, place, or activity.

Suppose an imaginary prompt asks for something you use to carry groceries. A regional name for a shopping bag might fit, yet require a listed alias to match. This is an illustrative situation, not a real prompt or a claim about a particular supported word.

What the game changes before matching

The matching rules ignore letter case and extra ordinary spaces. They do not freely rewrite your answer.

Input differenceHow this site handles it
Uppercase versus lowercaseIgnored for matching
Leading, trailing, or repeated ordinary spacesTrimmed or collapsed
A plural or alternate spellingAccepted only if listed for that question
A synonym or nicknameAccepted only if listed as an alias
Punctuation or accentsPreserved rather than automatically removed
A misspellingNo automatic fuzzy matching

An accepted alias receives the same rank and points as its standard answer. You do not earn a different score for choosing one supported spelling over another.

There is no live AI judge deciding whether an unfamiliar response should score. If an expression has not been included, the game does not automatically reason its way to a new match. The scoring page describes these rules.

What to do while the round is active

If your answer is unlisted and answering time remains, you may try again. Check the prompt, correct a genuine typo if you see one, or choose another clear candidate.

Changing only capitalization will not help an otherwise identical unlisted answer. Neither will adding spaces. Repeatedly sending cosmetic variations uses effort without changing the match.

Submitting pauses the answering clock while the request is processed. When an unlisted response is ready, the remaining time resumes. The processing wait does not use that answering time, but thinking and typing after the response do.

The first accepted answer settles the round. Once that happens, another answer cannot replace it. An action at exactly fifteen seconds is too late; skipping or running out of time awards zero.

Report a missing answer or an unexpected match

Use the feedback control attached to your submitted answer. The available reasons cover a missing answer, an unexpected answer match, and a ranking concern.

Choose the reason that describes what happened. A low score from an accepted answer is a ranking concern, rather than a missing-answer report. An answer interpreted as something you did not mean belongs under an unexpected match.

Reporting does not pause the clock or change your current score. If the round is still active and you have time, decide whether to try another answer before spending that time on feedback.

The report includes the recorded submission for editorial review. You do not need to place private or sensitive information into an answer to explain the issue.

What a review can change

Feedback can inform later question versions. Existing games keep their original question versions and are not automatically rescored when content changes.

That means a report is a way to improve future questions, rather than an appeal that promises points for the current round. It also means a missing expression should not be treated as proof that the expression is invalid in everyday English.

If the problem is the connection

A pending submission and an unlisted response are different situations. If a submission is still being recovered after a connection interruption, its answering clock stays paused during recovery. Refreshing does not create a fresh fifteen-second window.

See How to play for recovery behavior. Once you are ready for another game, practice gives you a separate seven-round session.
